About Me

I am a military wife, dog mom, yoga instructor and cosmetology apprentice trying to find my path in life. Currently I'm productively wasting time until I can figure out life. Here you will find how I'm wasting that time, eating gluten free, constantly moving and standing on my head.

beautiful fall day

thursday was probably one of our last beautiful days as it seems the cold weather is setting in. paisley and i both desperately needed to get out of the house and the neighborhood. i had been itching to go to one of the amazing metroparks in the area that i had recently read about in the YA book i'm reading. sugarcreek metropark is home to several trees known as the Three Sisters. these trees date back over 550 years and one of them is over 25 feet around! this park is only 15 minutes from my house so i HAD to see them as soon as possible. sadly only 2 of them are still alive but they are a sight to see. Paisley and i chronicled the day on my iPhone. enjoy.

P was super excited to be going somewhere! and we had just been in Petsmart which you think he would enjoy - WRONG! he wants to hi tail it out of there as soon as we get inside the store. i think he fears he's getting his nails trimmed because that is why we went to the pet store in New Mexico. i have forever scarred my puppy.

caramel. apple. spice. nuff said. they put crack in this drink. some days i can't handle caffeine but want something warm and fallish. this seriously hits the spot. i need to apologize to any of my NM friends that read my blog. i know that you cannot run out and have one of these ASAP. although they may make it at the OClub coffee shop. its worth asking!

gorgeous fall colors at the beginning of the trail. it felt kind of like a tunnel of trees.

isn't he adorable? that tree behind him is over 25 feet around and over 500 years old! doesn't look like it!

we finished our hike sitting on a swing overlooking this beautiful field full of fall colors. what a great afternoon out with the pup.

a week in photos

Need a shower……..

but I'm afraid the FedEx man will come while i'm in there. my iPhone 4S comes today and requires a signature for delivery. so yes, that means i am not leaving the house, showering, working out or even taking out the trash until that beautiful little gem is in my hands. i suggest not visiting until it arrives and sorry to the hubs when he gets home from school that i'm in my jammies!

christmas morning

last night i found myself giddy as a little child on christmas eve, unable to sleep. i woke up every hour until finally giving up. what is the reason for my excitement? iPhone 4s pre-order!!! you heard that right. i have joined the club. after waiting years for verizon to pick up the iphone i proceeded to wait for the iPhone 5 so i wouldn't fall behind on technology shortly after getting the 4. much to my dismay the iPhone 5 never came. i was disappointed for a few hours, sulked, compulsively texted my husband about my life being miserable (over a phone, lol) and kicked a dog toy or two. i then rallied and decided the iPhone 4s is really the same as an iPhone 5 - its all in the name or so i convinced myself it was. so last night at 2:59a.m. (verizon's site went live 2 minutes early!) i became the proud owner of a white iPhone 4s. i have jumped on the bandwagon and have zero remorse. now let the 7 days of waiting begin.

so to further preoccupy my mind- its a busy, busy weekend in our house. yoga training tonight, ND v. AF in south bend tomorrow and yoga training all day sunday. hope to find something more exciting to blog about!

stay tuned………..

all creatures big and small

sadly i didn't have enough hands yesterday to take photos of the most adorable event. yesterday was oct 4 and to those of you in the Catholic faith may recognize this as the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi. still lost? St. Francis is the patron saint of animals. Therefore on his feast day churches across the country conduct a blessing of the animals. now some churches make it short and sweet - even conducting a "drive by" blessing as pets hang their heads out the car windows and others have a full prayer service. Regardless, it really is a precious site to witness.

yesterday, the creature (my hubby seems to think this is an appropriate nickname) and i went to st. charles borromeo in kettering for their blessing of the pets. Come one, come all! it was packed! Dogs, cats, rabbits and even hamsters in tupperware containers were present to receive their blessing. People sang, dogs howled! My dog danced. To conclude the service two lines were formed and each pet received a personal blessing, st. francis dog tag, holy water and sign of the cross on their foreheads - it was like a baptism for my creature. I was a very proud dog momma.

welcome to the faith, paisley francis rabon (that's his religious name)

bringing it all back home

Where haven't I been?! It may take awhile to recap my life and travels since my last post so I will save you the pain. We have moved back to my home state of Ohio and have been busily getting settled. AF husband started his new adventure today and I woke up with a migraine. I failed to provide him breakfast or lunch for the day. FAIL. As he begins his new adventure I am forced to evaluate what I am doing with our time in this new town. On that note, I am resurrecting my neglected blog. I'm up to so many new things, miss old friends and think this may help all of us keep in touch.

Look for many updates in the coming days!
